MY BACKGROUND AND WHAT BROUGHT ME HERE…
I moved to Tucson from California and began working as a financial advisor in 1997. After working for a Fortune 500 Company for several years, I soon realized the only way I could be an objective, trusted advisor without the typical conflicts of interest was to become independent. In 2001, I left my comfortable position as an employee advisor to start my own investment advisory firm built on trust, discipline, attention to detail, and always putting our clients’ interests first. I am very proud of our team and feel lucky to work with them every day to help our clients reach their goals.
My curiosity about investments and financial planning began at a very young age as I spent time with my Grandfather reviewing stock prices in the newspaper each day and watching him log dividends and stock splits. Looking at his records for many years, I was amazed at the power of long-term investing.
Growing up I loved to play multiple sports and was active in scouting. Some of the most valuable lessons I learned came through various scouting activities, and I am a proud Eagle Scout.
My college years were spent at California Lutheran University where I graduated with honors magna cum laude.
OUTSIDE THE OFFICE…
Nearly every moment outside the office I enjoy spending with my family. My wife and I met in high school in a small town in Northern California where we both grew up. We love to enjoy Arizona and be active in various sports, and really like RVing when we can get away for a few days. Our daughter enjoys playing softball which keeps us busy at practices and games. We are active at Catalina Foothills Church, and you may sometimes find me on the weekends at car shows admiring classic cars which I have always had a passion for (I think my favorite might be a mid-60’s GTO!).
A FEW UNIQUE FACTS ABOUT ME…
My daily work schedule now is much different than my summer job in college working as a lumberjack in the woods of Northern California. While I was in college I had some incredible opportunities to travel abroad. Some of the interesting places I visited were Israel, Greece, Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, China, Hong Kong, Armenia, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, France, and England.
Today, I am an avid reader of financial/research publications, and you can occasionally see me doing TV interviews on various financial topics.
