MY BACKGROUND AND WHAT BROUGHT ME HERE…
I started in the business in 1999. My interest in finance really came from a product of intrigue and influence. I ran across an Ibbotson chart as a youngster and was intrigued by the power of compound interest (I still sometimes use this chart in meetings). I earned my degree in Economics at the University of Arizona. During that time, I had the opportunity to learn from several professors that were leading scholar’s in investment theory and behavioral economics and were passionate about teaching and cultivating investment thinking. I graduated as a 4-time winner of the Mary Roby Academic Achievement Award given to distinguished scholar-athletes. After graduation, I started working in the financial services industry and the rest is history.
OUTSIDE THE OFFICE…
I enjoy time with my wonderful wife and 3 kids. My oldest is now officially a 3rd generation U of A grad! We live in Oro Valley and I stay involved in different local organizations. We attend Casas Church and have enjoyed the chance to work in the kid’s ministry for many years. Also, you can find me on the field as I stay busy coaching club and high school soccer.
A FEW UNIQUE FACTS ABOUT ME…
I played baseball at the University of Arizona. It was a valuable experience being able to travel around the PAC-12 and compete in different places and environments. My favorite games were against our in-state rival, Arizona State University, where you would have an opportunity to see how engaged fans can be. However, I was a catcher so my knees are paying the price today.
Also, much to my surprise, we own 2 llamas. A 4H program at a nearby property closed down and they asked us to take in the 2 llamas brothers. So now we have Horton and Sam, who have become a part of the family. They pay their rent by eating the weeds and believe it or not they are potty trained.

Investment theory and behavioral finance continue to be a focus and something that I enjoy staying engaged in. I continue to pursue and vet the latest theories and financial concepts consistently and constantly. The investment landscape, options, rules, investment vehicles, and products are ever changing. All too often I see advisors using cookie cutter investment models to manage their client’s assets.
When hiring our firm to manage your financial resources, we become your advocate when it comes to financial decisions and as a resource for education and guidance for your particular situation. The financial world has a talent for investing pitfalls and “gotchas” which we help our clients navigate. We work independently and objectively for you and work to put your best interest first.
For our clients, we act in the capacity of a long term partner as your investment manager, financial advocate, and as a resource. The firm and all of our tremendous staff are focused on making sure that the advice and investment decisions are done in your best interest and with the intention of putting more financial resources in your pocket at the end of the day. Our firm tends to be distinct in the fact that if you decide to work with me, you will have no doubt that you are not only hiring me, but the entire firm to advocate on your behalf.
